This is not simply a harassment awareness film. This is a must for every employer!

What it delivers
Most employers are aware that they are vicariously responsible for the acts of their employees. However, not many are aware that there is a statutory defence to a claim of harassment if they can prove that they took all reasonable steps to make their employees aware of the harassment policy, usually embedded within the equal opportunities policy. The defence normally fails because employers adopt an equal opportunities policy but fail to communicate it to their employees.

Identifies the various forms of harassment
Explains how banter may turn into harassment
Explains the consequences on the harasser, the person being harassed and the employer
  Explains the Company’s policy
  Prevents harassment occuring
  Establishes a statutory defence

Materials may be used in evidence to help defend a claim of discriminatory harassment
Complies with the EEC Commission’s Recommendation on the Protection of the Dignity of Women and Men at Work

How does it deliver?
Produced from an employer’s perspective, it starts with a question and answer session. Then through a series of short scenes, the programme explains the circumstances of how various forms of harassment can occur. Not just sexual harassment, but also racial, sexual orientation, disability and religion and belief. The programme then looks at each aspect of the film in detail with a Powerpoint® presentation. This is followed by a questionnaire to confirm understanding of the key points. Finally, each training delegate receives a certificate of training.
